Literature Text

What is pain, but this?
To have found a light
To have reached for it
With all your might

Then it filled you up
In the furnace you're thrown
You experienced love
In a way never known

But you let her go
For you loved her so much
That you wished for her better
Than your diamond so rough

Because she'd never accept
The you that 'you' know
And the best you could give her
Was letting her go

And you see all her anger
Her rage and her pain
And the door that she slammed
On the salvaged remains

And you wonder if she...
Can she see through your lies?
As she walks away...
And your love never dies
A poem about letting someone go, not because you don't love them, but because you love them so much and want only the best for them, and you don't believe you are the best for them.

That is the final piece of self-sacrifice, isn't it? And what do we get in return?
