Literature Text

Yes I loved him
More than a woman should love any man
My heart was snared in his tangled net
A curiosity of ambition, hope and dreams

I came in upon a wave and sat upon the rock
He watched over me for awhile
Strong, courageous, protective
My beautiful god, my kiss of life

That was all

But yes, I loved him
His determination to take life into his own hands
Driven on through the storm

Yes, I see the breezes which come to greet him
Slapping hard into the face
Of one who will stare back in cold desolation

So hard and impenetrable
No one can see the emotions raging inside
I feel them, I'd die for to free them
Tearing and screaming and crying for freedom

The lump is like a spear in his throat
The obstacle it resembles flares up but not out
Yes it does

The walls of his confusion
The barrier to the bruises
Deep wells of tears which almost runneth over

Oh help me find the meaning of this misery
What is lost?  What is lost?
And can I pay no heed to what is found?
Was there someone, a mistake?

Who knows, who knows
Blow wherever the wind goes
We shall walk in the sun again
Sweet angel of mercy
Written in my early twenties, about the man that broke my heart when I was 21. Part of my heart shut up shop when he left, and was never seen, except for a momentary glimpse, ever again.
